Geriatric Services

Who We Serve

The Mountain Lakes Behavioral Healthcare Geriatrics program provides outpatient mental health services to consumers in long-term care facilities. There are more young adults residing in nursing homes now than ever before. Ages 31 to 64 currently make up approximately 14% of the nursing home population. (Stat from DHHS federal data) These individuals may develop a new mental illness or have a worsening of an existing mental illness as a result of the losses associated with being admitted to a long term care facility.

Mountain Lakes Behavioral Healthcare Geriatrics program has trained professionals that may be able to help. We work with the interdisciplinary teams and physicians in the nursing home setting to establish a plan of care for each client. Our team provides treatment for depression, adjustment disorders, anxiety, behavioral problems, grief issues, bipolar disorders, psychotic disorders, and neurocognitive impairments. We show our clients how they can begin to enjoy quality of life once again.
